The reason for this is because it is much faster and easier to get an article at ezinearticles.com ranking highly than it is to get a page on a brand new site or blog ranked. The articles will then in turn send traffic to an affiliate program, squeeze page, pre-sell landing page etc. Once the articles are ranked well and traffic and sales are consistent you can then spend more time on SEO for your site itself and for exploring new niches.
